I had the very special opportunity recently to travel to the small Okinawa Prefecture island of Kumejima, to meet our dear friends the Kinoshita family from Tokyo (whose hometown is in Kumejima) and witness the Holy Spirit at work on the island during their church's annual outreach festival (this is the Kinoshita's hometown church, though they currently serve at the church we attended all last year in Tokyo, Jesus Community).
While the busyness of the season precluded a full family trip this time, my solo trip was truly blessed, from the ferry ride there, to the festival, to the chance to meet new friends, to the chance to view that beautiful island. Here are some pics that only give a taste of my less than 24 hours there.

At Naha port on Okinawa. |
The more modern of the two ferries used. |
Nice seats to enjoy. |
Got to track the whole three and half hours! |
Awesome lunch at a hotel after arriving on the island! |
One of the famous Kumejima beaches, featuring some unusual columnar rock formations on the ground. |
A view from the church property on the hill, famous Eef Beach in the distance. |
Terrific turnout at the town auditorium for the music festival outreach. |
I was so very blessed to be able to serve as a stage hand during the event- here I am manning the spotlight on Kino-pu as he delivers the Gospel message to the crowd. |
The members of the church and musical guests after the event, having fellowship. |
The other church property down near the beach, where services are held, and where I got to spend the night! So quiet and pretty around there. |
The Kumejima Port office. |
The smaller, older ferry used to go between Kumejima and Okinawa. |
Older but still comfortable. |
Farewell for now, Kumejima! See you next time! |
So thanks for checking in! God bless, see you again.
